Day 3: Galloping to Gallup

Okay, I know that pun is terribly cheesy.

Our hotel in Amarillo was absolutely fantastic. If you ever find yourself in Amarillo, we both highly reccomend the LaQuinta West. Very clean, quiet, and safe! We woke up and grabbed Waffle House for the last time in who knows how long, before heading for Gallup, NM.

We had about a 6 hour drive, but we ended up taking about 7 between gas stops and fantastic side trip to an authentic Indian shop. Not only did they sell legitimate handmade Indian artwork and clothing, they also had fry bread. I'd heard about fry bread on a Travel Chanel special about state fair food, and fry bread was a Navajo tradition.

Stuffed fry bread (like an Indian taco) and cinnamon/honey up top.
Omnomnomnom!
Jared bought us a beautiful blanket as a housewarming gift, and we got to drive along Route 66! Gallup itself was actually a bit sketchy though. Other than picking up a few things from Walmart, and dinner from Taco Bell, it's been relatively uneventful. We're both VERY ready to get to Vegas tomorrow!
